FAA Selects Fuels for Testing to Get the Lead Out of General Aviation Fuel

With goal of having new unleaded fuel that reduces lead emissions for general aviation (GA) by 2018, FAA selected 4 unleaded fuels for testing at William J. Hughes Technical Center. Shell and TOTAL, with one fuel each, and Swift Fuels, with 2 fuels, will work with FAA on phase-one testing, which will conclude in fall 2015. According to Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, "This work will benefit the environment and provide a safe and available fuel for our general aviation community."
