The Federal Aviation Administration has indicated again that it considers real estate photography captured by drones to constitute commercial use of the unmanned aircraft, implicitly reiterating that the practice is illegal without special authorization from the FAA. "Professional real estate or wedding photography" was cited as an example of commercial use of unmanned aircraft systems , the FAA's technical term for drones, on a website recently launched by the FAA in partnership with drone trade groups to promote safe operation of the aircraft.
