FCC cancels vote on 'unlock the box' proposal

(Telecompaper) The US Federal Communications Commission has delayed its vote on a proposal to open up the set-top box market. It had been scheduled to vote on the item at its meeting 29 September, but the vote was removed from the agenda at the last minute. The FCC said it would still consider the proposal, but more work was needed "to resolve the remaining technical and legal issues".
