FCC chairman Tom Wheeler recommends $48.5B AT&T, DirecTV acquisition

Federal Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler has recommended the approval of AT&T's $48.5 billion acquisition of DirecTV . Wheeler's support came in a statement the FCC released in response to previous media reports that suggested the deal was likely to be completed within days.
