FCI to hold pre-bid meet for import of rice

Food Corporation of India, which received a poor response to tenders to import rice via canalising agencies for the northeastern states, has called for another pre-bid meeting with prospective bidders next week, a senior government official said. State-run firms State Trading Corp and MMTC earlier this month received only one bid each in the 20,000 tonne rice import tenders.
