(Telecompaper) Facebook has officially launched a new version of its social network designed for workplace collaboration. Workplace by Facebook is offered to businesses for a monthly fee per employee and provides a platform to exchange messages, conduct video calls, collaborate on documents and network with colleagues. It also comes with analytics to manage use and integrate with existing IT systems. The company first started testing the application a year ago with customers and already over 1,000 businesses are using workplace. Users have created nearly 100,000 groups, and the top five countries using Workplace are India, the US, Norway, UK and France. These include companies such as Danone, Starbucks and Booking.com, international nonprofits such as Oxfam, and the Government Technology Agency of Singapore.
