FeatureCAM supports Vortex high-efficiency area clearance strategy, which maximizes benefit from solid carbide tooling regarding, in particular, designs that can give deeper cuts by using full flute length as cutting surface. Strategy may be used for 2- and 3-axis roughing, 3-plus-2-axis area clearance, as well as for rest machining based on stock models or reference toolpaths. Vortex strategy produces toolpaths with controlled engagement angle for complete operation.
