RHEA is currently recruiting a Flight Dynamics System Software Engineer to support the Copernicus programme at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Reengineering activities analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateoftheart technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenancedriven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level. Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts I tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation oftest data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. Software user support software support to the endusers of the application software. Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. Training prepare and provide training covering usage and maintenance aspects of the application software. Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant engineering discipline with skills and experience in software maintenance, evolution and testing Minimum 3 years experience in the design, development andor customisation of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems in the context of LEO missions Experience in full cycle of development of application software, preferably for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems, following formal software engineering processes. Experience in corrective maintenance, integration and verification testing activities of application software for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems following formal software engineering processes. Experience in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented 00 approach including design patterns. Experience in designing and developing software applications using Java and related technologies. Experience in developing software applications using Eclipse SDE Smart Development Environment and related projects and addons. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience with software development and maintenance of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems and Tools based on the ESAESOC NAPEOS Navigation Package for Earth Observation Satellite. Experience with software development and maintenance of Tools using the Orekit space dynamics library. Knowledge of Satellite Mission Control Systems. Knowledge of Mission Planning Systems. Experience with software support to operations for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems. Experience in being the technical point of contact for contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance. Experience with developing software applications using FORTRAN. IBM DOORS requirement management tool. Experience in version Control Systems CVS and SVN. Linux Operating System. Unified Modelling Language UML for software design. Experience in the usage of software CASE design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect andor MagicDraw. Experience in designing and developing software client applications using Eclipse as HMI framework Rich Client Platform. Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. Experience with static and dynamic software analysis tools in support to testing and troubleshooting. Experience in designing and developing component based software applications using formal techniques e.g. OSGi. Experience in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and experience with data model design for RDBMS.
