Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange has confirmed that former Gubernatorial Republican Candidate Winton M. Blount III died in his sleep on Monday. Winton Blount III was a Gubernatorial candidate in Alabama in 1998, and had a very bitter Republican primary battle against incumbent Republican Governor Fob James.
