Australian Broadcasting Corporation: World leaders are preparing to meet in New York next week for a major United Nations conference on Climate Change.
US President Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron will be there. But along with the leaders of India and China our Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, will not be attending, even though he will be in New York the next day for various councils of war dealing with the situation in the Middle East.
The foreign minister will represent us in the climate change discussions.
