Four renewable energy plans from Westar up for KCC approval

Westar Energy customers who want more of their energy to come from renewable sources could have as many as four options if the Kansas Corporation Commission approves. Westar filed a $152-million rate request with the KCC to pay for environmental work at the La Cygne coal-fired plant and safety upgrades at Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
