Advocate: People packed two venues in St. Tammany Parish on Thursday night, waving signs, cheering anti-oil-drilling comments and jeering drilling advocates. The impetus for the public outcry was the proposal by Helis Energy, before the Louisiana commissioner of conservation, to drill a single oil well on a 960-acre tract near Interstate 12 and La. 1088 in the Mandeville area.
