Fremont council approves Niles Boulevard Bridge replacement

Work could begin within months on the replacement of the Niles Boulevard Bridge, between Fox Avenue and Linda Drive, over the Bay Area Rapid Transit and Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Under a $7.8-million contract awarded unanimously Tuesday by Fremont City Council, Viking Construction Inc. will construct a new cast-in-place, pre-stressed concrete box girder bridge to the south of the existing span.
