Our technical excellence and extensive prime contractorship experience extend across all sectors of the space business launch vehicles, manned space activities, satellite systems and related services.A Galileo GCS Design Authority is being recruited by Astrium in Portsmouth. A senior technical design authority is sought for the Galileo Ground Control Segment GCS. This is a key role on a high profile project to design, procure, deploy and verify the ground control segment for the Galileo constellation of satellites. The successful candiate will lead a design team and be fully responsible for the technical baseline. The system has recently entered operations for the first two satellites but ongoing evolutions are anticipated requiring a deep understanding of the technical issues.Key duties include Requirements analysis and flow down Architectural design using formal methods Interface definition Anomaly investigation and design of resolutions Support to technical meetings with customers and suppliers Represent the technical team in front of Authorities ESA in order to gain their approval.EADS Recruitment CentreApplications should be made via the EADS website.NB all engineering roles within the EADS group are advertised for a minimum of one month to ensure maximum visibility to potential candidates.
