For our activities in Fucino, we are currently looking for a Galileo Ground Segment AIV Senior Engineer. This position will first be located at the Galileo Control Centre in Fucino Italy, and after 18 months located at ESTEC, Noordwijk The Netherlands. Tasks and Responsibilities The Key person will have the following tasks and responsibilities Provide management support in the Galileo Ground Control Segment GCS AIV activities. This will include, among other tasks Monitoring the GCS Prime onsite activities with respect to the agreed plans and schedules, and to report on any issues arising from lack of adequate resources or in case of any issue involving the operational team or the procurement activities Liaising between the ESA GCS Team, ESA PA, GCS Prime and the Operations Team for GCS infrastructure anomalies and changes management including participation in the related boards and meetings Logistic support access to GCS infrastructure Ensuring all the deliverables are available at the agreed dates to the OPS prime GCS subsystem platform with any training tools, courses and materials to support each planned SVT and SCTC End to End test Ensuring that the GCS Prime maintain a proper configuration control system for all onsite data, including ILS data, inventory data, SW installed and segment configuration data Informing the GCS Technical Manager of any issues that may impact the deployment, verification or validation of any element or the overall segment AIV strategy or planning Participate in the testing and validation of the various infrastructure elements of the Galileo Ground Control Segment. Requirements The Key Person should have a University degree in a relevant discipline and have at least 5 years demonstrated experience on the following skills Technical and Project Management of international projects, preferably acquired in satellite missions ground SW and systems development programmes. Very good liaison and negotiation skills Development and AIV experience acquired in the above type of projects Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to report accurately and synthesising information coming from different sources Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel A proactive attitude towards problem solving and the ability to achieve solutions as required Fluent in English. The following will be considered as advantage Experience working with operational missions, and particular previous experience with Galileo ECSS standard and its application to projects involving development of Ground Data Systems MCS, simulators Experience in softwaresystem design methodologies Familiarity with the ESOC working environment, procedures and Quality Management System QMS.
