YOUR MISSION For the Galileo Ground Segment maintenance engineering we need you to support our Level 1 IT team, which plays a core role on the performance of our Galileo mission. You will be responsible for troubleshooting Galileos IT platform to guarantee the reliability and availability of our complex satellite ground control system at hardware and software levels i.e. customized serverswitchfirewall architecture solutions. We are looking for an engineer motivated to learn continuously, flexible and excited to work in a handson environment, who enjoys taking on new projects and solve problems. A successful candidate for this role will have strong organizational skills complementing hisher technical skills. The responsibilities include Analysis and implementation of maintenance tasks for the Ground Control and Mission Segments for the Galileo mission segments Conception and validation of processes for L1 service provision Maintenance responsibility for the IT platform of the Ground Control Segment for the Galileo mission preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of unexpected technical issues encountered during operations Installation, integration and verification of components of the Galileo Ground Segment Validation of maintenance procedures for deployed GCC hardware software Testing of the Ground Control and Mission Segment systems including interface tests Development of maintenance procedures for the Ground Control and Mission Segment systems Development and implementation of software interfaces to the existing IT systems in the Galileo Control Center GCC Research and implementation of innovative solutions to improve the IT systems Periodic participation in the 247 on call maintenance service weekly basis YOUR QUALIFICATION Masters degree in space or IT related engineering, such as aerospace, informatics, telecommunications, business informatics or equivalent Experience in IT concepts development in systemsnetworking engineering Knowledge of Galileo or other navigation ground segment is an advantage Confidence with Unix system scripting and python development andor data networks infrastructure Availability to support oncall service and occasional travel to other Galileo sites English at a work confident level is mandatory.
