Job Description A vacancy for a Galileo Navigation Concepts and Performance Engineer dfm has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn near Munich The successful applicant will join the GNSS Performance Department. Task accountabilities You will contribute to the design and development of Galileo in the field of navigation concepts, system performance, architecture and algorithms. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department at the Airbus site Taufkirchen near Munich with the opportunity of an expatriate phase at our customers location. With more than 80 engineers and 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. Act as a key person in supporting the development and exploitation of upcoming Galileo Services such as the Safety of Life SoL Service, the High Accuracy Service HAS and the Early Warning Service EWS, including Performance extrapolations by the simulation of Service functionalitiesassumptions Performance evaluation and monitoring making use of real measurement data Development and adaption of evaluation tools according to specific needs Support to performance requirements definition and verification tradeoff analyses Foster the share of information across disciplines System Performance, System Engineering, System Integration Verification, etc. Compilation of technical reports and presentation towards customer Interactions with Customers We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and experiences You have a Masters or diploma degree in Aeronautics, Physics, Geodesy, Mathematics or equivalent You have experience in satellite navigation systems, preferably Galileo You have detailed knowledge in at least one of the following areas GNSS, performance evaluation, requirements verification, requirements engineering, navigation algorithms, integrity concepts ARAIM, SBAS You have already worked and have a good knowledge with Matlab and Python You have the ability to analyze complex technical problems and to define innovative solutions You have the willingness to become an integral part of a team of experts and to share knowledge within the team Some experiences in systems engineering processes would be favorable You have already written documentations of technical methodsresults in English You speak English to negotiation level and it is a plus, if you speak German as well You are ready to aquire a national security clearance You are a good team player and have excellent communication skills as you will be working in a dynamic multinational teams What do we offer Challenging tasks forwith unique services and products Pleasant working atmosphere in a professional and international work environment Exciting development opportunities and perspectives Extensive company training offers eLearning and Classroom Trainings Flexible working hours Compatibility of work and family life Attractive remuneration Company Pension Scheme Good connections to public transport and local parking facilities Catering facilities on site This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth.
