Serco Nederland BV is looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer to support projects I.E EGNOS and Galileo for signal design for current and future evolution of the systems. You will have a background and experience on GNSS navigation performance and spacecraft system engineering Overview Radio Navigation system GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO etc. and augmentation EGNOS, WAAS, QZSS etc.. Includes studies analyses and testing of navigation systems, segments, elements, technology, dissemination and navigation algorithms, including tools development evaluation of NavigationPositioningTiming algorithm and techniques, user, system, segment performance assessment based on software simulators, laboratory and field measurements, and support to ESA projects in follow up of industrial procurements Equipments covering space applications. Study, design, analysis and testing of navigationpositioningrangingmonitoring technology and receiver for space Space applications performed at ESA Scientific applications atmospheric sounding, oceanic observation, formation flying, rendezvous and attitude determination Equipments for terrestrial applications Study, design, analysis and testing of navigation receiverstechnology for terrestrial applications and local augmentation Terrestrial applications performed at ESA are those related with high performance based on high accuracy e.g. geodesy andor high integrity e.g. civil aviation, maritime Signals and signal processing Study, design, analysis and testing of signal and signal processing techniques including tools, equipment development and procurement, this encompasses signal structure, modulations, data dissemination, techniques for error correction, synchronisation, multipath mitigation and estimation, interference mitigation, cancellation, encryption, authentication, etc Laboratory equipments Definition procurement design, testing, usage of Radio Navigation equipment in support to Radio Navigation experiments and test campaigns Specific Task Overview Support to Navigation Projects e.g. EGNOS and GALILEO for system functional and architectural design for current and future evolution of the systems Participation in studies supporting current and future radio navigation systems definition andor analysis EGNOSGALILEO evolutions and GPS modernisation regarding system, signalsinspace design and ground processing Support the Navigation Projects e.g. EGNOS and GALILEO in the implementation and coordination of the activities related with the monitoring and analysis of the performance of the various services offered through the Galileo and EGNOS SignalinSpace Support to Navigation Projects e.g. EGNOS and GALILEO through participation in studies, simulations and laboratory testing for the assessment of endtoend functionalities and performance, including measurement campaigns, data processing and field testing Contribution to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of radio navigation Monitoring of contracts with industry for studies on radio navigation concepts and for the development of radio navigation tools and equipment. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a minimum of a Masters Degree or equivalent together with several years relevant experience with GNSS1 and GALILEO systems and equipment. You shall have good knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems. Essential skills Knowledge in design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment Design knowledge of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, and good background on RF, signal processing techniques and digital navigation receivers Experience at user level with satellite navigation receivers and satellite navigation positioning and integrity algorithms You shall be specialist in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications Please note that Serco reserves the right of changing the advertisement closing date or to close vacancy at any time.
