The five suspects accused of using a "skimming" device to steal credit-card information at gas stations bought thousands in pre-paid debit cards at the Meijer store in Holland using stolen account numbers, police said. The Metropolitan Fraud and Identity Theft Team of Kent County developed information that the suspects , staying at Comfort Suites in Grandville, were responsible for stealing credit card information by hiding skimmers in gas pumps.
