(Telecompaper) The German Parliament (Bundestag) has adopted a new Digital Networks Bill (DigiNetzG). This has been created to help lower the costs of deploying, high-speed broadband networks, with more transparency and more efficient processes expected to accelerate the roll-out of digital networks. The Bill calls for network operators to use existing passive network infrastructure; for passive network infrastructure and fibre-optic cables to be laid at the same time in publicly-funded construction projects and when connecting new areas; and improved access to information about actual infrastructure availability.
