(Telecompaper) Google announced an agreement with major automakers to work on bringing the Android operating system to connected cars. Google has teamed up with Audi, GM, Honda, Hyundai and Nvidia to form the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA). The group will work on integrating Android apps, services and devices with the built-in controls and in-dash displays of cars. The OS integration is expected to make driving safer, easier and more enjoyable, Google said. Other automotive and technology companies are invited to join the OAA.
