Google launches cache link in Tanzania

(Telecompaper) Google has launched its Global cache link to the Tanzania Internet Exchange (TIX) to ensure local traffic is sourced locally and enable internet users there to obtain affordable and faster surfing, ThisDay reported. ICT Minister Makame Mbarawa was optimistic that this would attract more internet users. He said Tanzania has about 11.6 million internet users, but hopes to raise this to 15 million via the new link.
