(Telecompaper) Google received USD 1 billion from Apple in 2014 to carry its search bar on the iPhone, reports Bloomberg, based on transcripts of a court proceedings from Oracle's copyright lawsuit against Google. Speculation about how much Google pays have circulated for years, but the firms never disclosed it publicly. Oracle attorney Annette Hurst said a Google witness questioned during pre-trial information disclosed that at one time the revenue share was 34 percent. The transcript did not make it clear whether the percentage is the amount paid to Apple or kept by Google.
