(Telecompaper) Google has introduced the Chromebook Pixel laptop. The Pixel features a high pixel density touchscreen (239 pixels per inch), offering sharp text, vivid colours and extra-wide viewing angles, a 720p webcam, three microphones designed to cancel out surrounding noise and stereo speakers that are seamlessly tucked beneath the backlit keyboard. Chromebook Pixel is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, is equipped with a solid state Flash memory architecture and includes one terabyte of Google Drive cloud storage. In addition, the new laptop includes antennas and dual-band support for enhanced Wi-Fi range, LTE connectivity and comes with twelve free GoGo Inflight Internet passes for connection while in the air. The Chromebook Pixel is currently available on Google Play in the US and UK and soon at BestBuy.com. The Wi-Fi version is available for USD 1,299 or EUR 1,049 and will begin shipping next week. The LTE version is available for USD 1,499 and will ship in the US in April.
