EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 Member States, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, ocean and climate that deliver data 24 hours a day. Our data is vital to weather forecasts that protect lives and property, and to monitoring the changing climate. EUMETSAT is now developing the next generation of satellite systems, shaping its longterm future. We are recruiting for a Ground Segment Systems Engineer to help us develop ground systems for our new satellite systems. This is an opportunity to support the definition of our ground segment requirements and to analyse, verify and test proposed changes, assessing their impact on the whole system. We support new ideas from our colleagues and are focussed on innovation. With a background in ground segment engineering, you will have experience of managing projects and budgets across the development lifecycle. You will understand the processes, standards, tools and methodologies used to verify and validate developments. You will work with our partners and colleagues, using your strong interpersonal and communication skills to interpret and present complex problems and solutions. We provide an outstanding working environment in cosmopolitan Darmstadt, the City of Science.
