Telespazio is looking to fill a diverse and critical role to support our broad Space systems architecture work covering missions across the UK and Europe, in civil and defence arenas. This is a great opportunity for someone to have involvement in ground segment work for customers as well as the possibility of internal RD opportunities. DutiesResponsbilities The successful candidate can expect to be involved in Design development, utilising state of the art software architectures andtechniques for software based Ground Segment Systems, potentially including Launch Systems Monitoring and Control Segment Systems Mission Systems User Segment Systems Earth Observation Data management systems Planning and executing integration and testing Production of documents technical and also development plans Preparing and participating in technical reviews Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the preparation of proposals to win new work including Understanding of the technical requirements and the context within the overall project scope Designing modern, scalable solutions to the requirements Writing clear, concise, technical descriptions to express the solution and its benefits to the client QualificationsExperience University Bachelors Degree in a relevant topic, with Software Engineering modules or equivalent experience 3 or more years experience of software development, ideally within the space industry Essential Skills Software system design and development using modern architectures Knowledge of Ground Segment Systems Cloud based computing microservices Containers and Orchestration e.g. DockerKubernetes Machine Learning and AI Resource Oriented Architecture Development REST Continuous integrationdeployment environments e.g. Jenkins Agile software development methodology Linux development DevOps Requirements analysis Strong written and oral communication Desirable Skills Knowledge of OGC Standards e.g. WPS, WMS, WFS, WCS User Identification, Authentication and Authorisation e.g. SAML, OAUTH, OIDC Technical proposal writing Integration and test Big Data Processing Frameworks Big Data Databases e.g. HDFS, other nonSQL Windows development Scripting e.g. shell, perl, python Due to possible project requirements, UKdual nationals or individuals holding existing SC clearance would be an advantage Qualities Selfstarter Strong written and oral communication Team player, open and keen to contribute Conscientious, hard working Attention to detail
