One of our Space clients is looking for a Ground Stations System Engineer. This is a Consultancy Support position. The role would ideally suit a contractor looking for a long term consultancy role within the space industry. The submission deadline for applicants is September 28th 2015. Tasks and Responsiblilities Support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting EPSSG and JasonCS activities. Follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. Maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes MSG, EPS, Jason in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations, Qualifications and Skills University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Experience in the following areas Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC. Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations. TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations. Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive. Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. Good English skills are essential. The following are considered an advantage Engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs. Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations. Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators. System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures.
