Groups Vow to Appeal Chesapeake Bay Decision

Source: National Corn Growers Association and American Farm Bureau Federation The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) both announced this week that they would appeal a Sept. 13 ruling upholding the Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for the 64,000 square mile Chesapeake Bay watershed. The EPA is seeking to set pollution limits and reduce farm runoff of nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment in rivers that drain into the Chesapeake Bay. read more
