(Telecompaper) HTC announced a new range of "affordable premium" smartphones in its Desire line for the US market. The Desire 626, Desire 626s, Desire 526 and Desire 520 will launch over the coming weeks with all the major US mobile operators in a range of colours. HTC said the phones come with many of the features on its flagship One M9, at a more affordable price. This includes the HTC Sense 7 user interface and customisation options such as HTC Themes, HTC BlinkFeed, the Zoe app for making and sharing photo stories and HTC Sense Home applications. HTC Sense Home is an intelligent widget that automatically curates apps based on usage and location. It is contextually aware of location, time of day and preferred apps at home, work or on the go. While exploring a new city, HTC BlinkFeed intelligently recommends restaurants near you and recommended by friends during mealtimes. The new range, all with LTE, quad-core processors, expandable memory and 2,000 mAh batteries, includes the HTC Desire 526 with 4.7-inch screen in Stealth Black, the HTC Desire 520 with 4.5-inch screen in Steel Gray and the Desire 626 and 626s with 5-inch, HD 720p screens. All four come with an 8MP primary camera with HD 720p video recording, while the Desire 626 has a 5MP front camera and the other three a 2-megapixel front camera. The operators AT&T, Boost Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Sprint Prepaid, T-Mobile, Tracfone, Verizon Wireless and Virgin Mobile USA will announce in the coming weeks and months more details on availability, including colours and pricing.
