(Telecompaper) HTC reported second-quarter sales of TWD 65.06 billion, just meeting its outlook for revenues of TWD 65-70 billion. The smartphone maker posted an operating profit of TWD 2.43 billion and net profit of TWD 2.26 billion or TWD 2.74 per share. The figures showed a strong improvement on the first quarter of the year, when the company reported a net loss of TWD 1.88 billion on sales of TWD 33 billion. This is likely due to the launch of its flagship HTC One M8 phone and other new models. Revenues in June reached TWD 21.9 billion, down just 0.7 percent year-on-year and 4.1 percent higher than May. HTC will release audited quarterly results at a later date.
