(Telecompaper) HTC has announced that it's reducing the price of its Vive virtual reality headset from USD 799 to USD 599 in a bid to compete with Facebook, which recently cut the price of its Oculus Rift headset to a permanent USD 499, or USD 399 in a temporary summer promotion. In a statement, HTC said it will also offer a free trial for its Viveport subscription service, where customers can choose up to five additional games a month, as well as copies of some of the most popular pieces of VR currently available, including Google's Tilt Brush, EverestVR and Richie's Plank Experience.
