Head-on collision takes one life

The Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that one person has died in a head-on vehicular incident near Lamar on Highway 287 Aug. 25. The office has not released the name of the victim. Highway 287 was closed in both directions at about noon at mile post 63 and reopened at approximately 2 p.m. CSP Public Affairs Trooper Nate Reid told the Ledger that a southbound Ford Mustang, for an unknown reason, crossed over into the northbound lane.
