Herman Miller's consumer sales bolster 2nd quarter profits

Herman Miller Inc. said Wednesday that its second first-quarter profit was $27.8 million, helped by a recent acquisition. The Zeeland-based furniture maker acquired retailer Design Within Reach Inc. in July.
