Hope remains despite record dry spell

THE driest 12-month period in history has not dampened the spirits of local farmers and agriculture industry insiders, who still believe the season can have a positive finish. Bool Lagoon farmer Bruce McLean and Cox Rural agronomist James Heffernan both say that despite a dry winter and a record low rainfall for the past 12 months, crops in the region just need a bit of spring rain to reach their full potential.
