The tariff phase-out schedule for textiles and apparel under the recently agreed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) pact is far more complicated than in any existing US free trade agreements, according to Dr Sheng Lu, assistant professor at the Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies at the University of Delaware. Here he takes a first look at what lies ahead.
