With temperatures falling into the single digits, Duke Progress set a new peak of 14,473 megawatt-hours for the hour ending at 8 a.m. Thursday. Turns out Duke Energy Corp. had good reason to ask its customers in the Carolinas to limit their use of electricity yesterday.
