Hughes and Telecomm to install 4,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in Mexico

(Telecompaper) Hughes Network Systems (Hughes) is teaming up with state-owned operator Telecomm to deploy hotspots powered by Facebook Connectivity's Express Wi-Fi platform in as many as 4,000 rural communities in Mexico. The rollout is part of Telecomm's plan to bring affordable internet to all parts of the country under the Federal Government Connectivity and Social Coverage Programmes. [ more ]
