DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Hurricane Andres was located near latitude 15.5 North, longitude 118.1 West. Andres is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours. Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km).
