We are currently looking for a Hyperspectral Sounding Product Engineer to support our customer in Darmstadt, Germany. Hyperspectral Sounding Product Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Hyperspectral Infrared Level 2 L2 team within the Remote Sensing and Product Division, you will have the following responsibilities Support the operational software implementation during the development phase of the Payload Data Acquisition and Processing facility PDAP Analysis of similarities and specificities to the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer IASI processing within the EPS and EPSSG contexts and the required products, with the aim to maximize algorithm reuse Maintain and the IASING products generation specification documents Support the reviews of IASING L1D and L2 documents evolve the IASING products generation specifications taking the review outcome into account Support the porting and reuse of IASI processing software in the context of EPSSG for IASING, preparation of SW packages, test and verification data Adapt and evolve the existing IASI L2 operational processor to form an IASING prototype, e.g. make it ready to ingest IASING and MWS L1 synthetic test data Analysis and visualisation of hyperspectral infrared components and L2 products. Skills Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as computer science, mathematics, physics, astrophysics, meteorology or remote sensing Scientific computing, numerical algorithms, development and testing Satellite data, preferably from IASI or other hyperspectral infrared instruments SW documentation, test data and test procedures, handling big amounts of data Very good skills in C, NetCDF, IDL or Matlab preferably with satellite data Experience in inverse problems, principal component analysis, mathematical modelling techniques, validation and visualization of satellite products Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of French language is an advantage.
