1. Formulate the IT strategy and operating plans in line with EshailSats vision, mission and corporate objectives to enable IT to effectively support corporate business needs 2. Ensure IT architecture and standards are developed and maintained, and all IT operations, systems and applications adhere to these standards and ensure all IT solutions are aligned, consistent and integrated. 3. Recommend improvements to IT policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of IT so that all relevant procedurallegislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, costeffective service and provide professional advice and support to all levels of the business on the full range of IT issues to ensure that the IT capability of the business is optimised. 4. Analyze in conjunction with relevant department heads the computer and information needs of EshailSat, from an operational and strategic perspective, and lead architectural and design activities to find the best technical and operational solutions to meet business requirements and user needs. 5. Monitor current and anticipated system demand versus capacity and make recommendations concerning system expansion so that EshailSat has sufficient capability to meet business requirements. 6. Lead the development of technological capabilities enterprise IT systems which will enable IT to develop stateofart IT solutions to meet business requirements, improve performance and provide world class information systems to support management decision making. 7. Monitor and control IT operations so that it meets and exceeds the service levels agreed with users and conforms to relevant technical and security standards within budgeted cost. 8. Participate in defining and securing agreements with vendors, which provide the best terms, conditions, and quality so that the organization gets best value for investment. 9. Validate purchase requirements of hardware and software and any other IT peripherals and approve as per delegation of authority in order to ensure availability in a timely and cost effective fashion. 10. Ensure effective and robust control and security systems are implemented to safeguard and protect all operations and data integrity, and to enable the business to continue to function effectively. 11. Ensure development of business continuity plans including the provision of disaster recovery facilities and define and oversee the implementation and testing of the efficacy of disaster recovery procedures with respect to IT systems so that the IT systems can be reinstated in a timely and integral manner in the event of a disaster. 12. Ensure that all IT systems are updated and maintained in a timely manner to guarantee ongoing system availability and stability. Direct the planning and communication of periods of system downtime so that the integrity of systems is maintained while causing minimum disruption to users. 13. Monitor new developments in the field of IT and advise the business about appropriate, cost effective and business responsive solutions which could enhance or replace existing systems. 14. Provide input into the development of the departmental budget that accurately represents anticipated IT costs to allow accurate planning and cost management. Monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costsrevenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance andor cost reduction are identified.
