Ingredion Chief Executive Ilene Gordon has been appointed the first female chairman of the board of the Economic Club of Chicago, an 88-year-old invite-only group of area business leaders, the club said Tuesday at its annual meeting. Gordon, who has degrees in math and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has been a club member for more than 25 years and recently served on its executive committee.
