Data show that the cost of a trip to a Whole Foods Market Inc. store just doesn't stack up to the chain's derisive "Whole Paycheck" nickname. to shake, shoppers, it turns out, are spending just about the same amount at Whole Foods as they are at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. "Slightly more people spend less than $25 on a trip to Whole Foods, and slightly more spend between $25 [and] $100 at Walmart, but, overall, the distribution of how much people spend on trips to these stores are remarkably alike," reports data-services company Priceonomics, in a blog post.
