India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton and polyester yarn prices are clearly declining on India's domestic market, in line with a drop of fiber prices. By contrast, cotton yarn export prices are being raised in US$ terms, due to the rebound of the rupee in the past weeks, as spinners try to maintain their margins. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.
