We are looking for an Industrial Policy Support Officer M3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Supporting the Head of Section for Industrial Policy and Economic Analysis by Ensuring the collection of information on the national industry incl. visits to industry and contribute to the systematic building of knowledge on the industrial landscape in Europe, on the competitive environment of the European industry and on the identification of opportunities critical technologies, items procured outside Europe, supply chain bottlenecks Advising Member States in the development of their space activities and industry customised approach Prepare OCC reports and recommendations to Delegations, including information coming from exchange with the Programmes, the NMS section, the SME Office, technical experts, the TEC harmonisation team, industry workshops, dialogue with the Primes and spinin studies Consolidate the OCC reports with the Delegations based on their needs Prepare timely inputs for IPLI meetings with Delegations based on the OCC reports, including preparatory exchanges with the Delegation Market analysis on specific products, technology and services relevant for MS Supporting the IPTF in the achievement of their objectives in 2019 and 2022 Provide the Secretariat to the Industrial Task Forces, ensure effective cooperation with the Programmes, contribute to the definition and implementation of the TF workplans, in order to reach the minimum geo return requirements at end 2019 with the development of structuring activities Support the preparation of the information to and decisions of the IPC on IPTF matters Supporting the Programme and Technology Directorates Contribute to the definition of the geographical return policy for all ESA programmes and activities, in cooperation with the Industrial Auditing Return Division and all Directorates, and to the setting up and implementing of the proactive management of the geographical return objectives of the Agency Make recommendations on how the Industrial Policy and relevant procurement provisions can best be met in new programmes and in the implementation of ongoing programmes and activities and contribute to drafting and establishing Programme Declarations and Implementing Rules visvis procurement and industrial policies Participate in Programme Boards, Industrial Policy Committee meetings and Tender Evaluation Boards as necessary Contribute to the Technology Harmonisation process as regards its link with Industrial Policy To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master Degree University in a relevant field. Proven ability to rapidly understand and adapt to ESA specific context and environment is expected. Past experience in working for dealing with space industry. Past experience with ESA in relevant activities would be very valuable. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL.
