High oil prices have boosted inflation in India in May, forcing regulators to raise interest rates for the first time in four and a half years. In Turkey meanwhile, the crisis did not subside, with inflation surpassing market expectations, despite the efforts of Turkeys Central Bank. In Pakistan, the rupees strong devaluation has boosted inflation through higher prices for imports.
