Inflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly Report)

2020-05-28 19:11:00| EmergingTextiles.com

Consumer prices are slowing down in emerging countries, as a clear sign that deflation threatens the global economy in the post-Covid period. Lower inflation rates are allowing governments in low-cost countries to ease further their monetary policies, however, whereas emerging currencies are dropping. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. The impact of currency changes vs. the US dollar, the euro, and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.
