Inflation in Low-Cost Countries (Monthly Report)

2015-12-17 21:05:07| EmergingTextiles.com

Consumer prices have surprisingly risen in many low-cost countries in November, due to unfavorable weather resulting in higher food prices. Emerging countries have no more room for lowering their interest rates, as a result. Higher consumer prices have however been offset by currency depreciations in the last months, at least in US$ terms. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. Impact of currency changes is calculated to assess real consequences for exports of higher or lower inflation rates.
