We are currently looking for an Instrument Systems Engineer to support our customer in Germany Instrument Systems Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities The position is in the field of external payloads for fundamental physics research. The specific nature of the fundamental physics experiments named Atomic Clock Esemble in Space ACES lies in operating atomic clocks in space and comparing them to ground atomic clocks. You will have the following responsibilities Support the subcontractor in the assembly, integration and test of the instrument with the support of the ACES system team Support the preparation of instrument documentation ICD, Design Description, Manuals, etc. Support the SHM PFM manufacturing, assembly and integration Ensure implementation of and adherence to configuration management standards Ensure implementation of and adherence to Quality Assurance standards Act as local resident, i.e. as representative of the prime ACES system team identify the need for ACES prime or ESA involvement in case of anomalies or shortfalls and facilitate communication and additional support support the organisation of meetings, telecoms, checkpoints and other events support critical review of the achieved progress versus plan and report to ACES PM and ESA work performed and work planned, major issues Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Diploma or DrPhD in physics or electrical engineering experience in space systems, instruments development and AIT motivation to work and live abroad in Switzerland for 69 months, collocated with the supplier specific knowhow for the physics of the clock would be advantage capability to represent the customer as prime contract visvis the supplier Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
