ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY 6month internship, starting in the first quarter of 2021 This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Software Solutions Engineering team at SESTechCom in a fastpaced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. Based in Luxembourg, you will contribute to extend and customize the Ground Network Monitoring System GNMS for our customers Emergency Response communication platform httpsemergency.lu. The GNMS is currently based on Grafana httpsgrafana.com, NetXMS httpsnetxms.org and Timescale httpswww.timescale.com software. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development, configuration and verification of a unified monitoring system and multitenant customer interface for a geographically distributed ground station network. Examples of required extensions include Integrate GNMS with SES Central Authentication Service CAS Improve Ground equipment autodiscovery and monitoring Improve GNMS selfmonitoring, backup and highavailability Integrate GNMS with our Incident and Asset Management System Support the migration of GNMS to Microsoft Azure Cloud Improve VSAT PowerBox monitoring Evaluate Customer Service Management CSM and Multimedia Network Operations Centre MNOC additional requirements feedback YOUR PROFILE Being an advanced Bachelor or Masters student in ICT or in a relevant technical area Strong interest in network monitoring systems, customer support interfaces and key performance indicator metrics Sound knowledge of IP networks and protocols Basic understanding of satellite ground stations Working knowledge of Linux, Java and C Excellent analytical and judgment skills Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines Work independently as well as in a team Easiness to communicate at all levels Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
