Irish car sales down as West Europe shows growth

West European car sales rose 14.3% year-on-year in June, industry data showed today, as Britain, Germany, France and Spain to deliver double-digit gains, although Ireland's figures dropped. Car sales increased to 1.31m registrations last month, from 1.15m in the same month a year earlier and 1.06m in May, data from LMC Automotive showed, as major markets shrugged off political uncertainty in the run-up to Greece's bailout referendum.
